first and only design by arthur hills along the grand strand

Anyone who spends more than the blink of an eye in Myrtle Beach is sure to pass Myrtlewood Golf Club, which boasts a can't-miss location on Highway 17 and whose holes can be seen just across the street from one of Myrtle Beach's biggest attractions, Broadway at the Beach.

Trying to decide between one or the other? Better players should book the PineHills over the Palmetto, while those out for a more relaxing round and a couple holes along the Intracoastal Waterway should go with the Palmetto.

The PineHills Course is the first and only design along the Grand Strand by award-winning architect Arthur Hills. It was formerly known as The Pines, but renamed PineHills in 1993, when Hills redesigned it. The PineHills course is routed along the same path as its predecessor, but Hills' skillful use of mounding and strategically placed water hazards gave the course a completely different feel. PineHills was on Golf Digest's list of nominations for "Best New Resort Course" after its redesign and was a finalist to host the Tour Championship for the Senior PGA Tour when the event was held in Myrtle Beach. In 1997, PineHills was named one of Golf Digest’s “Top Ten Courses in Myrtle Beach.”

Its unique blend of superior Bermuda fairways and Penncross bent Tifdwarf Bermuda grass greens is immaculately maintained to provide a perfect playing surface that includes traditional architectural elements, rolling fairways, undulating greens, ubiquitous water hazards and subtle elevation changes.
